Leadership 201: Nimble Decision Making

This intermediate course is for REALTORS® who volunteer in the community or at a local real estate association. Volunteers come to the table with a keen interest to make a difference, make decisions and give back. A lot can get in the way of making timely group decisions. In this course, participants will discover how to remove the barriers to nimble decision making. They’ll learn how to stay on top of emerging trends, and they’ll encounter powerful tools that will help your board fulfil its responsibilities as decisions are implemented.

Leadership 300: Enhancing Leadership Skills

This course is for REALTORS® who volunteer in the community or at a local real estate association. This 3-hour course is targeted to leaders who are interested in advancing their skills in chairing meetings and answering challenging questions. Through group discussion and interactive activities, participants will better understand governance and learn ways to advance the strategic plan of their association.

Leadership 301: Member Focused Leadership

This intermediate course is for REALTORS® who volunteer in the community or at a local real estate association. As volunteers take on more responsibility as an association leader, they recognize the importance of their fiduciary duty to act on behalf of members. This is an experiential learning course that helps participants fulfil their governance responsibilities of stewardship, accountability, and oversight. Participants learn to make group decisions that advance their member-focused strategic goals and manage risk to the benefit of members.

This course is for President-Elects only. A president-elect’s term is a critical time for laying the groundwork for success in the pending role as president. They become leadership role models. Participants learn how to achieve long-term goals, build relationships while addressing conflict and plan for board assessment. This highly interactive session will help presidents-elect take on their new position with confidence.

Leadership 402: Taking the Reins

This interactive course is for new presidents. It helps them take the reins with success. The first months of a president’s term is a critical time to establish themselves in their new role, and this course helps them prepare for the year ahead. Through self-reflection, group discussion, activities, and action planning, new presidents will develop their plan for success.

Leadership 403: School of Hard Knocks

The School of Hard Knocks course takes experienced volunteers on a deeper dive of key sustainability drivers for their organization. The sustainability drivers that will be focused on in this course are Member Recruitment and Retention, Member Engagement, Finance, Technology and Risk Management. Volunteer leaders will learn how to develop strategies for effective board and committee recruitment, including identifying and engaging diverse candidates. This course will engage board leaders in developing a comprehensive CEO succession plan, work through a crisis plan, as well as evaluating individual director and whole board performance.
